Training team
Claire Nadon pursued her loves for fashion and architecture simultaneously by studying theatre production at Cégep Lionel-Groulx. After working in the industry as a set, costume and lighting designer for a few years, she went back to school, first to study fine arts at Concordia University, and then to study film for a year. Her film studies sent her set and costume designs in a new direction, although she also used fashion as a medium to develop her creativity. Seeking a deeper understanding of her art, she went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees in art history at Université de Montréal. Over the years, she has explored every aspect of costuming by taking additional training in leatherwork, shoemaking and textile construction. Claire has extensive experience acquired from nearly 45 years in the audiovisual industry. She has also taught at Concordia University and Cégep Lionel-Groulx.
Jean-François Desjardins has more than 30 years of experience on film sets. After graduating from LaSalle College in the late 80s, he began his career in the world of styling and fashion shows. He joined Radio-Canada in 1990, where he divided his time between the sets of the state company and the costume designer. Since 1994, he has been working on film productions and television series, both in Quebec and in the United States. As a trainer, he wishes to share his expertise with the new generation and help them learn the trade.
