Logistics Department
This page describes the criteria for recognition in the Logistics department.
To become a member of any department, you have to:
- Be a member in good standing (have paid the membership dues)
- Have completed the session Introduction to the Union
In effect since October 24, 2022.
Mandotory training for all LOGISTICS department members
Unit: Notions of Electricity and Traffic Signaller are not mandatory for the Security Guard
RECOMMANDED training for all LOGISTICS department members
- Prevention of Harassment - Members, contributing to a harassment-free culture
- First Aid in the Workplace
This training is also highly recommended for technicians already recognized in the position.
If, as part of your duties, you are required to drive a heavy vehicle, you must first have taken the OODHV Act – Drivers Section training course. This training is not tied to a department or function, but rather to the performance of a specific task.
If, as part of your duties, you are required to drive machinery (aerial work platform, platform, forklift, telescopic handler, etc.) you must hold the corresponding competency card.
This also applies to people supervising technicians who have to drive heavy vehicles or machines (aerial work platform, forklift, telescopic handler, etc.).
Have accumulated 150 days of work as a Unit Manager under Union contract on at least 5 different productions
Have worked on at least one non-studio production (on location) as an Unit Manager - provide a call sheet
Be recognized as an Assistant Unit Manager
Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license
Have taken the following training classes :
Have accumulated 150 days of work as an Assistant Unit Manager under Union contract on at least 5 different productions
Have worked on at least one non-studio production (on location) as an Assistant Unit Manager - provide a call sheet
Have worked at least 250 days on the Logistics Department
Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license
Have taken the following training classes :
Have accumulated 120 days of work as a Set P.A. under Union contract on at least 2 different productions
Be recognized as a Production Assistant
Have worked 90 days in the function on at least two different productions
Be recognized as a Production Assistant
Have worked 120 days in the function on at least two different productions
Be recognized as a Production Assistant
Have a valid Class 5 driver's license
Have completed the following training:
Highly recommended training for the Truck P.A.:
Have worked 90 days in the function on at least two different productions
Be recognized as a Production Assistant
Highly recommended training for the Backup Truck P.A.:
- Safe Handling of Gases
- Transportation of Hazardous Material (TMD)
- OODHV Act - Drivers (formerly OUVL)
Have worked 120 days in the function on at least two different productions
Be recognized as a Production Assistant
Have a valid Class 5 driver's license
Highly recommended training for the Cable P.A.:
Have worked 120 days in the function on at least two different productions
Be recognized as a Production Assistant
Have a valid Class 5 driver's license
Highly recommended training for the Cable P.A.:
Have worked 120 days in the function on at least two different productions
Be recognized as a Production Assistant
Have a valid Class 5 driver's license
Highly recommended training for the Cable P.A.:
Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Production Assistant under Union contract on at least 2 different productions
Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Security Guard under Union contract on at least 2 different productions
Hold a valid Agent's licence
The Logistics and Road Signaller training courses are not mandatory for the Security Guard
