Respiratory Protection - Fit test

ABOUT

Learn that contaminants in the form of dust, particles, gases, vapours and smoke may be present in the air and that it is therefore essential to protect yourself by using respiratory-protection equipment appropriate to the situation (the particular contaminants present in the air).

Know that the use of respiratory-protection equipment is governed by the law and regulations.

OBJECTIVES

The skills to be acquired are practical and will be validated by a test:

1. Recognize that the workplace may be contaminated;
2. Choose the right respiratory protection for the particular work environment;
3. Perform an air-tightness test correctly;
4. Maintain respiratory-protection equipment correctly.
   
   

PREREQUISITES

Be a member of one of the following departments:

• Construction
• Special Effects
• Painting
• Sculptor Moulder
• Make-up (Only for special effects make-up)
• Costumes (Only for people making patinas on costumes)

For the fit test, beards must be clean-shaven. A mustache is however accepted.
